“I really don’t remember it at all,” she said she told him.
Despite the seriousness of the claims, the woman admitted she did not report either incident at the time, instead choosing to remain silent due to feelings of shame and distress.
“I just felt so dirty and gross, and it just became a secret that I lived with,” she said.
The situation escalated further as three additional women stepped forward with their own accusations of misconduct. While not all alleged physical assault, the claims paint a broader picture of inappropriate behavior, including unsolicited explicit messages and the sending of nude images.
Two of the women claimed their interactions with Swalwell occurred through Snapchat, a platform known for automatically deleting messages, making verification more difficult. Another accuser described meeting Swalwell through political connections before an evening that allegedly left her disoriented and vulnerable.
“He was sitting against me, and every time that I would move away from him, he would get closer,” she said. She added that she felt “really fuzzy” as the night went on.
Social media personality Ally Sammarco also came forward, alleging that what began as professional political communication quickly turned personal and inappropriate. She claimed the congressman sent explicit content during late-night conversations, raising concerns about boundaries and judgment.
Several of the women described what they viewed as a consistent pattern: initial outreach tied to politics or professional engagement that later shifted into increasingly personal and sexual interactions. Some admitted they continued communication due to Swalwell’s political influence and status.
CNN reported that it reviewed various pieces of evidence tied to the allegations, including messages and photos. Additionally, friends and family members of multiple accusers reportedly confirmed that the women had shared their experiences with them around the time the incidents allegedly occurred.
In one instance, the former staffer reportedly sent text messages to friends shortly after the alleged 2024 encounter, identifying Swalwell by name and stating she had been sexually assaulted.
Swalwell has forcefully rejected all allegations. In both direct statements and a video posted publicly, he made his position clear.
“These allegations of sexual assault are flat false. They are absolutely false,” Swalwell said. “They did not happen. They have never happened. And I will fight them with everything that I have.”
He has also suggested the timing of the accusations is politically motivated, noting they surfaced just ahead of a major election. Swalwell emphasized his commitment to defending himself and maintaining focus on his family.
His legal team has already taken action, issuing cease-and-desist letters to at least two accusers. The letters reportedly demand retractions and warn of potential legal consequences if the claims continue to be publicly repeated.
Meanwhile, some former staffers have come to Swalwell’s defense, describing their professional experiences with him as appropriate and respectful, adding further complexity to an already polarized situation.
The former aide at the center of the most serious accusation said she ultimately decided to speak out after learning others had similar experiences.
“I’ve lived in fear every single day,” she said.
She insisted her motivation is not political, but personal.
“The only person who could ruin Eric Swalwell is Eric Swalwell,” she said.
As the story continues to unfold, the allegations — and Swalwell’s emphatic denials — are likely to intensify scrutiny on his campaign and personal conduct, setting the stage for a high-stakes battle both in the political arena and potentially in the courts.
