What began as a rare winter novelty in North Texas ended in devastating loss, as two teenage girls were killed during a snow sledding outing that authorities say took a tragic and irreversible turn.
The incident unfolded in Frisco, Texas, after an unusual snowstorm swept through the region, blanketing neighborhoods unaccustomed to winter conditions. Elizabeth Angle and Grace Brito, both 16 years old, lost their lives following a sledding accident that has left families, classmates, and the community reeling.
According to reports, Elizabeth Angle was pronounced dead on Sunday, while Grace Brito succumbed to her injuries on Tuesday after being kept on life support for several days. The suddenness of the tragedy has intensified grief across the city, especially among parents who say the incident underscores how quickly innocent moments can become fatal.
Police say the sledding activity involved a vehicle towing the girls on a sled, a decision now under investigation by local authorities.
“Preliminary investigation indicates a 16-year-old male was operating a Jeep Wrangler while pulling the two females on a sled,” the Frisco Police Department posted on Facebook.
