Ronna McDaniel’s About-Face: Here’s What Happened!

In a leaked email to committee members, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel denied resignation rumors and reaffirmed her commitment to the party’s success. She reaffirmed her commitment and gave an update on the RNC’s election-related preparations.

The email was acquired by Steve Bannon.

“Rumors to the contrary are simply not true. Nothing has changed,” According to reports, McDaniel said in response to rumors that she was quitting. The explanation is given in the middle of a flurry of rumors indicating her impending departure. McDaniel gave members comfort, “I am still hard at work as RNC Chairwoman and building a machine that will elect Republicans up and down the ballot in November.”

“I am currently on the road fundraising, we’re staffing up with staff on the ground in 15 states,” McDaniel detailed.

According to a source among rumors and conjecture, the Republican National Committee’s public backing of McDaniel is intended to “slow things down” because of ambiguity surrounding her successor and other committee leadership positions.

The New York Times revealed on Tuesday that McDaniel will step down following the February 24 Republican primary in South Carolina. Shortly after former President Donald Trump informed Fox News that “changes” will be occurring at the RNC in the upcoming days and weeks, the action was taken.

According to The Times, Trump is probably going to back Michael Whatley, the leader of the North Carolina GOP, to succeed McDaniel. Committee rules mandate an election, but Whatley is expected to get McDaniel’s support as well.

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

Whatley has supported proposals for election integrity measures and supported Trump’s objections to the 2020 election. Trump is said to approve of his leadership of the North Carolina GOP, which helped the party gain a resounding victory in 2020 and a supermajority in the state legislature.

According to The New York Times:

McDaniel has been considering leaving early for some time, according to people with knowledge of the situation. Even while some of Trump’s closest allies are hostile about McDaniel, Trump has surprisingly exercised patience, addressing her departure in public with a rare level of compassion.

“I think she knows that,” When asked if it was time for Ms. McDaniel to stand down, Mr. Trump said in an interview that appeared on the right-wing media website Newsmax not long after his meeting with her. “I think she understands that.”

Requests for reaction from a Republican National Committee press representative went unanswered. Later, an RNC representative named Keith Schipper said on the social networking site X that “nothing has changed. This will be decided after South Carolina.”

Jason Miller, a senior advisor to Mr. Trump, stated in a statement, “Any speculation beyond the president’s post on Truth is just that — speculation.”

Months of criticism and demands for McDaniel’s resignation—citing unsatisfactory election results and fundraising figures—have culminated in the rumored resignation. The RNC has somewhat less cash on hand than the Democratic Party, with little over $8 million in recent files, and $1.8 million in debt.

McDaniel has declared she would resign should the Republican nominee make such a request.

Still, the stolen email said, “I want to thank you for your outpouring messages of support, I am proud of this Committee and our work together over the past several cycles. I know you all are working diligently in your states alongside state, local, and grassroots leaders towards victory this fall,” McDaniel wrote.
