New statements from the family’s own attorney are quietly undermining a narrative that was repeated almost verbatim across mainstream media within hours of the shooting.

Renee Good, 37, was killed during a tense encounter with immigration agents in Minneapolis, an incident that immediately ignited protests and became a political lightning rod in President Donald Trump’s ongoing immigration enforcement efforts.

From the start, left wing activists and sympathetic media figures framed Good as an innocent victim of federal overreach. Supporters of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, on the other hand, pointed to video footage that appears to show Good striking a federal agent with her vehicle, arguing the shooting was a clear case of self defense.
