Democrat-run cities are bleeding law enforcement officers — and a powerful police organization just revealed why.
While liberal mayors shower illegal immigrants with billions in taxpayer funds, the men and women sworn to keep their cities safe are left scraping by on shrinking budgets. The message couldn’t be clearer: criminals and illegal aliens come first, cops come last.
And according to one leading police group, America’s officers have had enough.
National Police Association Sounds the Alarm
Sergeant Betsy Brantner Smith of the National Police Association didn’t mince words in her Fox News Digital interview.
“It’s very frustrating for law enforcement,” Smith said. “There are so many financial resources spent toward illegal aliens, as well as all the political capital that is being spent right now in Chicago in support of illegal aliens.”
The numbers behind her frustration are staggering. New York City expects to spend more than $8.9 billion just to house and support illegal immigrants through 2025. Illinois has poured $2.5 billion into similar programs since 2021 — blowing past every initial cost estimate. Meanwhile, Chicago dropped roughly $255 million in just two years providing food, housing, and clothing to those who entered the country illegally.
