The FBI is once again in the headlines — this time for a move that many say highlights a deep cultural shift inside the Bureau under Director Kash Patel.
According to multiple outlets, more than a dozen agents who were photographed kneeling at a protest in Washington, D.C. back in 2020 have now been dismissed. Sources familiar with the decision say roughly 20 agents were removed after years of reassignment following the incident.
Agents punished years after “taking a knee”
The kneeling occurred during mass protests after the death of George Floyd, when law enforcement officers nationwide faced enormous scrutiny. Floyd’s death, captured on video in Minneapolis, sparked riots, arson, and violent attacks across the country. Former officer Derek Chauvin was later convicted of murder.
