No One Arrested After Shocking Nancy Guthrie Raid

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

The dramatic scene fueled speculation that law enforcement was closing in.

But Sheriff Chris Nanos delivered a more measured message the following morning.

“Nothing more than a lead tracked down that led to a search warrant,” Nanos said during a Saturday press briefing. He made it clear that anyone detained for questioning had been released.

“No one is in custody, and no arrests have been made in connection with the abduction of Nancy Guthrie,” he added.

The development left the community both anxious and frustrated. Three weeks into the search for Guthrie, investigators continue to follow leads but have yet to publicly identify a suspect.

NewsNation correspondent Brian Entin reported that despite the lack of arrests, investigators remain focused on what they uncovered during the raid. According to Entin, authorities are still “interested” in the information connected to the operation. “It’s all ongoing,” he said, citing sources familiar with the case.

This was not the first high profile search linked to the investigation.

Earlier, deputies raided a home in Rio Rico, a border town roughly an hour south of Tucson. In that case, one individual was detained but later released without charges. Once again, no formal arrests followed.

The renewed law enforcement push comes after investigators recovered unidentified DNA from Guthrie’s property. Officials have declined to disclose where the DNA was located but confirmed it does not yet match anyone in custody.

“Investigators are working to identify who it belongs to. We are not disclosing where that DNA was located,” a department spokesperson stated.

That piece of forensic evidence may be one of the most significant clues so far.

Meanwhile, the FBI has revealed new details about the suspect believed to be involved in Guthrie’s disappearance. On February 12, agents released a physical description after retrieving doorbell camera footage from residual data stored at her home.

The footage reportedly shows a masked individual carrying a handgun approaching the residence around the time Guthrie vanished. The suspect is described as a male, approximately 5 foot 9, wearing gloves, a ski mask, and carrying a black 25 liter Ozark Trail Hiker Pack backpack.

The image of an armed figure walking toward the home of an elderly woman has shaken the Tucson community.

As the case stretches into its third week, pressure continues to mount. Residents want answers. Family members want closure.

To encourage tips, the FBI is offering a $100,000 reward for information that leads to an arrest or to Guthrie’s safe return.

For now, law enforcement insists the investigation remains active and aggressive. Search warrants are being executed. Evidence is being processed. Leads are being pursued.

But the central question remains unanswered.

Where is Nancy Guthrie?

Until that question is resolved, the people of Tucson will continue to watch every flashing light, every police convoy, and every press conference, hoping the next update brings the breakthrough they have been waiting for.
