NEW Poll Threatens Trump District!

Tennessee’s 7th Congressional District, traditionally a Republican stronghold, is suddenly on edge as Democrat Aftyn Behn mounts a serious challenge against Republican Matt Van Epps in the upcoming special election. The seat, left vacant by former Rep. Mark Green, was widely expected to be a routine GOP victory — but recent polling suggests this race could go down to the wire.

A new Emerson College Polling/The Hill survey, released Wednesday, shows Van Epps, a former state General Services commissioner, at 48 percent, with Behn, a current state legislator, not far behind at 46 percent among likely voters and those who have already cast ballots. About 5 percent of voters remain undecided, leaving room for potential shifts in the final days before the election.

When pushed on their leanings, the poll indicates undecided voters slightly favor Van Epps, moving him to 49 percent, while Behn inches up to 47 percent. Such a narrow margin is unusual for a Republican candidate in a district that has historically delivered comfortable wins for the GOP.
