Washington is bracing for another political earthquake as a senior House Republican is sounding the alarm: the sudden departure of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene may only be the beginning. According to the lawmaker, more frustrated members are preparing to walk away, setting off fresh concerns about the GOP’s already razor-thin House majority.
The source, speaking anonymously to Punchbowl News, suggested that Greene’s resignation wasn’t an isolated flashpoint but rather a symptom of much deeper resentment brewing within the conference. Many members, the Republican suggested, have simply hit their breaking point after months of growing tension with both the White House and Speaker Mike Johnson.
The Republican didn’t hold back, directly accusing the Biden administration of openly disrespecting elected lawmakers on Capitol Hill.
“This entire White House team has treated ALL members like garbage. ALL,” the lawmaker said. “And Mike Johnson has let it happen because he wanted it to happen.”
