The reference to “Eva” wasn’t a term of endearment. Instead, it was a nod to the 1955 Hollywood classic Queen Bee, starring the legendary Joan Crawford. The film tells the story of Eva Phillips, a manipulative socialite who thrives on control and destruction.

“This wasn’t an engaging pet nickname,” Sean explained. “The nickname came from the 1955 camp classic Queen Bee starring the ultimate diva . . . herself – Joan Crawford . . . This is because, like the Joan character [Eva Phillips], she stung her victims to pieces. This is exactly how staff felt about working alongside [Meghan].”

Meghan reportedly had no idea that employees were using this nickname behind her back.

Neil Sean detailed how difficult Meghan was to work with, describing her as high-maintenance and prone to mood swings. According to him, her behavior made working conditions unbearable for many at Spotify.

“When that person is not around, they have to be reminded that they are dealing with somebody who is a duchess and more importantly, a member of the British royal family,” Sean stated. He claimed that while people were initially captivated by Meghan’s presence, the charm quickly faded as she became increasingly demanding.

It wasn’t just lower-level employees who were frustrated with Meghan. Even top executives at Spotify were fed up with the royal couple. Bill Simmons, a top Spotify executive and well-known sports podcaster, didn’t hold back when he discussed his experience with Harry and Meghan after their contract ended.

“‘The Fing Grifters.’ That’s the podcast we should have launched with them,” Simmons said. “I have got to get drunk one night and tell the story of the Zoom I had with Harry to try and help him with a podcast idea. It’s one of my best stories. F them. The grifters.”
