McDonald’s Just Got Caught Doing It Again

McDonald’s is at it again. The fast food giant just dusted off one of its oldest marketing stunts and rolled it out like it is a national emergency. And millions of Americans are already falling for the same act McDonald’s perfected back when Ronald Reagan was still in the White House.

The company has brought the McRib back. Again. And just like every other time, they are treating a cheap pork sandwich like it is the return of a Hollywood icon.

The Cult Sandwich Returns But Only Where McDonald’s Wants It

McDonald’s quietly confirmed that the McRib showed up Tuesday in select markets across the country. Cities like Chicago, Dallas, Miami, Atlanta, Cleveland, St Louis, Seattle and Los Angeles suddenly saw signs go up announcing its triumphant return.¹

But the rollout came with a twist the corporate press never bothers to mention. It is not everywhere. It is not even close. And the price jumps from place to place. In Atlanta it sits around 5.49 dollars while in Seattle it climbs close to 7 dollars.² That is a steep price tag for what is basically ground pork shoulder shaped to look like real ribs.
