As the former president of the United States was charged, Speaker Kevin McCarthy took to social media to criticize Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg’s choice. The Speaker didn’t hold back, promising to act and make sure Bragg is made to answer for his deeds. McCarthy’s remarks have provoked a heated discussion and brought attention to the ongoing legal dispute.
McCarthy wrote, “Alvin Bragg is attempting to interfere in our democratic process by invoking federal law to bring politicized charges against President Trump, admittedly using federal funds, while at the same time arguing that the peoples’ representatives in Congress lack jurisdiction to investigate this farce.

“Not so. Bragg’s weaponization of the federal justice process will be held accountable by Congress.”
For some who had hoped for more protests against Trump, Tuesday’s events came as a bit of a letdown. Republicans in Congress made it clear that maintaining the integrity of our legal system is a top priority, and they also pledged to stop future elections from being meddled with. They won’t allow Bragg to disturb the peace.
McCarthy has consistently expressed disapproval of Bragg. Here is a March tweet that attacked the district attorney.
