Local Official Caught Red-Handed In Voter Fraud Scheme

After engaging in election fraud during the Democratic primary and general elections of 2020, a public employee in Alabama is now facing major legal repercussions. Given that voter suppression continues to be a problem for our country’s political system, this might be a devastating blow to American democracy.

The chairman of the Perry County Commission, Albert Turner Jr., has been charged with attempting to rig an election by casting numerous ballots in the same primary. The Secretary of State’s Office for Alabama discovered this electoral fraud and filed a lawsuit against the offender.

Turner has been charged with tampering with the results of the general election after a grand jury discovered evidence connecting him to a planned scheme to harvest votes. His upcoming trial’s outcome is now in the hands of justice.

Turner vehemently denied the accusations and fought to maintain his innocence.

In a joint statement, Michael Jackson, the district attorney, and John Merrill, the departing secretary of state of Alabama, left open the question of whether or not specific ballots affected the outcome of the race. They both agreed to keep quiet about this till further notice.

“It is not appropriate at this time to comment because a lot of variables that factor into that decision and these matters are currently under investigation,” Merrill said.

John Merrill, the secretary of state for Alabama, said that although he wouldn’t say which elections might have been tampered with, people should still have faith in the democratic system despite the uncertainties.

“There could be other people involved, so it would be inappropriate to name those specific races at this point,” he said.

The Associated Press was informed by Jackson, the district attorney for the Fourth Judicial Circuit, that Turner “was stuffing the machine with the ballots that he had already filled out for the folks he was supporting. He did that for a good little while, and he had some folks distracting the poll watchers.”

“He was there most of the day stuffing filled-out ballots in favor of the candidates he was supporting,’’ Jackson said, according to AL.com. “Witnesses came forward, and we felt we had enough to present to a Perry County grand jury.”

Jackson said in the news release that he has “heard the cry from the citizens and the people running for office to clean up the elections.”

“It deters people from running if you know your opponent is going to have a million absentee ballots,” he told AL.com. “It also deters people from voting – what do they always say? ‘My vote doesn’t count, doesn’t matter.’’’

As Robert H. Turner Jr., the cousin of Albert Turner Jr., assumes office this month following his victorious reelection campaign against outgoing incumbent Jackson, Jackson’s political environment will change.

Turner assured the Associated Press in a statement that he was innocent and had done honorably.

“I am not concerned about any charge he has announced and I will not waste any energy on political theatre. It is mighty funny that Little Mike waited until he was leaving office to make his charge, because he knows he can’t prove his case,” Turner wrote.

Turner posted about the fraud on Facebook after being suspected of wrongdoing. He disclosed that a DA office informant had given him the heads-up about his indictment, which was a false assertion spoken with shock and outrage.

He asserted that Jackson and he had long-standing political animosities and that by 2022, they will be at odds. “Turner had weakened Jackson’s image and the lure of defeat was within reach. Turner’s first cousin Robert Jr. had the clean-cut intelligence to make Jackson look like the buffoon he had displayed on tv over the last six years.”

After noting that his cousin won the contest, Turner added that he “is not concerned about Michael Jackson and his bogus change of ballot stuffing and mailing too many absentee ballots. if I am guilty of anything it was making sure Robert Jr. beat the hell out of Jackson and he did that.”

“Turner said he agrees with Jackson’s claim that the ballot box was stuff, not by him, but by the people of Perry County and the 4th Judicial District. The people were tired of politically motivated prosecutions by an incompetent district attorney,” Turner wrote on Facebook, summing up the indictment as “political theater at its finest.”
