The Democratic Party is reeling after Kamala Harris’ humiliating loss to Donald Trump in the 2024 election. Panic set in immediately, with fingers pointing in every direction as party insiders scramble to figure out what went wrong.
One of the party’s own veterans, James Carville, didn’t hold back. The legendary strategist unleashed a scathing critique of the “identity left,” exposing the internal rot that crippled the Democrats’ campaign.
Carville Blasts Identity Politics
Carville, speaking on Fox News Channel’s Saturday in America, offered his blunt diagnosis of what sank the Harris campaign. Host Kayleigh McEnany asked him about the infighting over the party’s embrace of far-left identity politics.
“Look, here’s what has Democrats squirming in their seats,” Carville said. “The identity left — or you can call it woke, I hate the word woke for good reasons — it was so stupid and it was so unpopular and no one wanted to use that kind of language.”¹
“And it was a giant mistake, that’s all I can say,” he continued. “And it caused real damage to our electoral process.”²
