The findings paint a picture that is not subtle and not accidental.
Across all five programs, producers booked 90 liberal or Democrat guests compared to just one conservative voice.
That is not a rounding error. That is a deliberate gatekeeping strategy.
According to the study, this amounts to a 99 percent liberal booking rate, mirroring the same imbalance NewsBusters found earlier in the year.
The lone conservative appearance came when Greg Gutfeld briefly appeared on The Tonight Show in August. He stood as the only non leftist guest allowed through the door during the entire study period.
Every other slot was filled with progressive activists, legacy media personalities, and celebrities eager to attack Donald Trump while studio audiences obediently applauded on cue.
Kamala Harris Gets the Red Carpet Treatment
Perhaps the most revealing example came just last week.
Vice President Kamala Harris appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to promote her failed memoir while once again attacking President Trump.
During the appearance, she complained that Americans “deserve better” than the President they elected in a landslide.
Harris was one of 31 Democrat politicians or officials who were welcomed onto late night shows during the study period.
Not a single Republican received the same courtesy.
Stephen Colbert Pushes Harder Than Anyone
No host leaned further into partisan programming than Stephen Colbert.
Colbert booked more liberal guests than any other late night personality before CBS announced his show would end in May 2026.
The network insisted the cancellation was “purely a financial decision,” but the timing raised eyebrows.
Just days earlier, Colbert had lashed out on air over Paramount’s $16 million settlement with President Trump, calling it a “big fat bribe.”
Soon after, CBS announced his show was finished despite previously calling him irreplaceable.
President Trump reacted on Truth Social, writing “I absolutely love that Colbert got fired.”
Colbert transformed The Late Show into a nightly venting session for liberals still consumed by Trump Derangement Syndrome years after the 2016 election.
During the study period alone, Colbert hosted 21 liberal guests and zero conservatives.
The Daily Show followed with 19 liberal guests, while Jimmy Kimmel booked 10.
Cable news personalities from CNN led all outlets with five appearances, while MSNBC hosts Rachel Maddow and Chris Hayes were given repeated platforms to recycle conspiracy talking points.
This was not coincidence. It was coordinated messaging.
Years of Bias Add Up
The long term numbers make the situation even worse.
Since September 2022, NewsBusters has tracked 604 liberal or Democrat guests compared to just 15 conservatives.
That equals a 97 percent ideological imbalance sustained across years, networks, and hosts.
This did not happen because conservatives refuse invitations or lack interesting ideas.
It happened because late night television has become an extension of the Democrat media ecosystem.
A separate Media Research Center analysis found late night hosts told 12,011 jokes about conservatives in 2025 compared to only 1,086 jokes about liberals.
That means 92 percent of political jokes targeted the Right.
Jimmy Kimmel led the charge again, delivering 3,046 jokes aimed at conservatives, representing 97 percent of his political material.
He mentioned Trump 1,668 times across 155 episodes, averaging roughly 11 Trump jokes per show.
Audiences Are Walking Away
Viewers are responding the only way they can.
Ratings continue to decline as Americans tune out what feels less like comedy and more like scripted opposition research.
Reports claimed Colbert’s show alone was costing CBS $40 million per year despite being the top rated late night program. While the network never confirmed the number, the financial pressure was real.
When a so called comedy show requires corporate subsidies while functioning as one party propaganda, the mask slips completely.
Late night television is no longer about laughs.
It is about narrative control.
And Americans are increasingly choosing to turn it off.
