In a bombshell revelation, Acting Director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), Patrick Lechleitner, has dropped a stunning report on the state of immigration enforcement under the Biden-Harris administration. According to a letter addressed to Texas Congressman Tony Gonzales, more than 13,000 noncitizens with murder convictions are currently living freely in the United States after crossing the border. This alarming information has ignited fresh outrage from conservatives, who have long criticized the administration’s immigration policies.
Lechleitner’s letter detailed that as of July 2024, ICE’s national docket includes a staggering 662,566 noncitizens with criminal histories. Among this group, 13,099 individuals have been convicted of homicide. Even more concerning is the fact that these individuals are not in federal custody. They are part of ICE’s “non-detained docket,” which means they are allowed to remain at large within U.S. borders while awaiting immigration proceedings that could drag on for years.
