JUST IN: Gaming Titan Killed In Supercar Disaster

The video game industry is mourning one of its most recognizable figures after a deadly crash on a notoriously dangerous Southern California mountain road.

Vince Zampella, a longtime gaming executive best known for his role in creating Call of Duty, was killed when a high-powered Ferrari left the roadway and erupted into flames on Angeles Crest Highway. One passenger was also killed, turning the incident into a double tragedy that has reignited concerns about reckless driving on public roads.

Authorities say the crash occurred around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday in the San Gabriel Mountains, a stretch of road infamous for high-speed crashes involving luxury sports cars. Zampella was 55 years old.

High-Speed Crash Ends in Fireball

According to law enforcement, Zampella was driving a 2026 Ferrari 296 GTS when the vehicle exited a tunnel on Angeles Crest Highway and veered off the roadway. Video footage later obtained by TMZ shows the red Ferrari traveling at extreme speed before going airborne and slamming into concrete barriers.
