Hunter Biden’s former business partner said that the president’s son frequently facilitated connections between his business colleagues and his father during evidence before the House Oversight Committee on Monday. These conversations took place when Vice President Joe Biden was serving in the administration of former President Barack Obama.
According to CNN, convicted criminal Devon Archer has been asked to appear before the House Oversight Committee while serving a one-year jail term for a separate fraud case.
Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, a Republican from Georgia who attended the closed-door meeting where Archer responded to inquiries, said that Archer informed lawmakers. “The Bidens were in the actual business of influence peddling,” according to the Daily Mail in the UK.
“It’s extremely damning,” She spoke to the source.
“We have Devon Archer coming out and telling the truth that Hunter Biden and Joe Biden spoke over 20 times about his business deals, not about the weather, not about what was for lunch, [but] about his business deals,” she said.
Rep. Andy Biggs of Arizona, a Republican, said before Congress that Archer had underlined the significance of the Biden link to Burisma. In the past, Archer and Hunter Biden were on the board of this Ukrainian energy firm.
Biggs quoted Archer as saying, “Burisma would have gone out of business sooner if the Biden brand had not been invoked. People would be intimidated to really mess with Burisma because of the Biden family brand.”
Biggs said that following Archer’s remarks, “I think we should do an impeachment inquiry.”
Hunter and Archer both served on the board of directors, and it was revealed that Hunter received a $50,000 monthly pay for his work at the Ukrainian energy business.
Greene expressed her hope that Archer’s testimony “moves the needle” in favor of a presidential impeachment investigation.
“We have to have 218 Republicans to vote for it, and there’s been some that just aren’t there yet, but in my opinion, the information that’s coming out today could really push many of them to get to ‘yes,’” she said.

According to the Washington Examiner, Democratic Rep. Dan Goldman of New York said that Archer has verified that Hunter Biden linked his father with his acquaintances through phone on around 20 occasions over the course of 10 years.
In contrast to Greene, Goldman provided a different account of the evidence, claiming that there “wasn’t a single conversation” regarding any of the possible agreements that were in the works at the time of those conversations and that the only topics discussed were “casual conversation, niceties, the weather, what’s going on.”
“[Hunter Biden] would often put his father, occasionally would put his father on to say hello to whomever he happened to be caught at dinner with,” Goldman said. “And Mr. Archer clarified that it was sometimes people they were trying to do business with, and it was sometimes friends or other social engagements.”
Joe Biden has maintained, according to New York Post columnist Miranda Devine “I’ve never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings,” Despite that viewpoint having changed since September 2019, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said this week that “The president was never in business with his son.”
Devine discussed Archer’s testimony on social media and called it absolutely devastating.
According to a recent piece by Devine for the New York Post, Archer’s testimony would clarify a crucial incident involving Joe Biden and his son’s interactions with officials from a Ukrainian energy business when he served as vice president.
The Post said that on December 2, 2015, Archer and Hunter Biden were in Dubai together with two representatives from the Burisma energy business. During this period, one of the authorities asked Hunter Biden, “Can you ring your dad?”

The vice president, according to Devine, “greeted the Ukrainians but spoke only in vague pleasantries during the short call, and in other such interactions with Hunter’s overseas business partners.”
