While Ramaswamy insists his departure was fueled by his ambition to run for Governor of Ohio in 2026, speculation swirls that a growing rift with billionaire entrepreneur Elon Musk played a key role in his exit.
A Sudden Exit from DOGE
After Trump’s victory in 2024, he appointed both Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy as co-chairs of DOGE, a new initiative aimed at streamlining the federal government. However, before Trump’s administration could even get fully underway, Ramaswamy shocked supporters by stepping down from his role.
