In a fiery exchange, Ohio Senator J.D. Vance sharply criticized ABC’s Martha Raddatz during a discussion on the growing influence of Venezuelan gangs in Aurora, Colorado. The tense interview occurred on Sunday as Vance defended his views on immigration and the resulting crime wave.
The focal point of the debate was the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua, also known as TdA, which has reportedly been taking over apartment complexes in Aurora. Raddatz downplayed the severity of the situation, claiming “only a handful” of apartments had been seized by the gang. In response, Vance shot back, expressing disbelief at her attempt to minimize the issue. “Only a handful! Do you hear yourself?” Vance exclaimed, clearly taken aback. “Only a handful of apartment complexes in America were taken over by Venezuelan gangs, and Donald Trump is the problem? Not Kamala Harris’s open border?”

Vance’s remarks were in defense of comments made by former President Donald Trump, who linked the gang violence to the Biden-Harris administration’s lax border policies. The senator emphasized the frustration many Americans feel about crime and border security, stating, “Americans are so fed up with what’s going on, and they have every right to be.”
