Jacob Frey Just Dismissed ICE Withdrawal Announcement!

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey is not celebrating the end of a massive federal immigration crackdown in his city.

Instead, he is casting doubt on it.

After Border Czar Tom Homan announced that Operation Metro Surge is winding down following roughly 4,000 arrests, Frey made clear he is not ready to acknowledge the results. Asked whether he believes ICE agents are actually leaving, Frey replied bluntly, “I will believe it when I see it.”

That was the mayor’s response after weeks of intense federal enforcement activity in Minneapolis. No thank you. No acknowledgment of the arrests. No public nod to federal agents who spent more than a month carrying out operations across the city.

4,000 Arrests And A Political Standoff

Operation Metro Surge began late last year when the Trump administration surged thousands of immigration agents into Minneapolis. The stated goal was to target individuals with criminal histories who were in the country unlawfully.
