Donald Trump took a big chance when he agreed to take part in a CNN town hall.
Trump was well aware that the leftist propaganda machine will undoubtedly try to harm his 2024 campaign.
The attempt by CNN to trap Donald Trump completely failed.
Left-leaning CNN host Kaitlin Collins repeatedly emphasized Trump’s electoral weaknesses in an effort to sway Republican supporters who were still uncertain.
This risk, though, has negative effects.
A lively post-event debate is facilitated by CNN’s Gary Tuchman with a select group of viewers.
Tuchman boldly posed a challenge to the audience by slamming Trump as a liar and refuting his claims about the 2020 race.
“Donald Trump, you have to be blunt about it, is not a truth-teller. That’s the way he’s always been when he was a businessman and when he’s been a politician,” Tuchman stated. “He has lied about the 2020 election, stuffed ballot boxes; it’s all made up. He’s lost dozens of court cases.”
Tuchman asked the audience if they were concerned about Trump’s purported preoccupation on 2020 events, which seemed to ignore more immediate issues hurting the country.

“Does it bother you that he keeps talking about 2020 and not 2024?” Tuchman added. “How do you feel about those lies?”
CNN observed that candidates who were perceived by the media as being unduly preoccupied with the past did not fare well in crucial Senate and gubernatorial races during the most recent election.
The town hall participants, though, were aware of CNN’s strategies.
While pointing out that the first question posed to Trump focused on the 2020 election, a member of the audience expressed interest in learning about Trump’s plans for the upcoming 2024 election.
“So, I feel like part of it is also the media narrative, as you guys asked him the first question at the town hall about the 2020 election rather than current stuff,” the spectators gave a response.
Responding, Tuchman questioned whether Trump should be “talking about 2024 and not lies that aren’t true.”
The audience member’s direct but heartfelt reaction was accepted as truthful even by Tuchman.
“Couldn’t the media ask him a question about 2024?” the spectator questioned.
“There were questions, but you’re right, that was the first thing,” Tuchman conceded. “But that’s something that was on our mind and that’s why it was asked first.”
Tuchman’s admission highlights the difficulties associated with left-leaning media outlets airing Republican town halls and debates.
