House Passes Shocking Bill Against Fraudsters!

The U.S. House of Representatives has moved decisively to target illegal immigration tied to government fraud. On Thursday, lawmakers passed H.R. 1958, the Deporting Fraudsters Act of 2026, with a 231–186 vote. The legislation would make committing fraud against the federal government a deportable offense for individuals residing in the U.S. unlawfully.

Introduced by Rep. Dave Taylor, the bill seeks to amend federal immigration law so that stealing from or defrauding the United States is explicitly recognized as a cause for removal and denial of entry. The measure covers fraud involving major federal programs, including SNAP, Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid, ensuring that those who exploit taxpayer-funded benefits face serious consequences.

Currently, U.S. immigration law allows deportation for certain criminal convictions, but not all forms of benefit fraud are clearly enumerated as deportable offenses. Proponents argue the bill fills a critical legal gap by specifically including government fraud as a removable offense.

“It’s a no-brainer – if an illegal alien defrauds the United States or steals benefits from our nation’s most vulnerable, they should be permanently removed from our country,” Taylor said after the House vote, highlighting the moral and fiscal imperative of the legislation.
