The Trump administration is preparing to introduce a significant policy aimed at encouraging illegal immigrants to leave the United States voluntarily, according to Border Czar Tom Homan. In a recent video posted to X, Homan explained that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) would soon implement a program urging illegal migrants to self-deport before facing legal repercussions.
“Border crossings are down almost 90 percent,” Homan stated in the interview, highlighting the dramatic shift in migration patterns. He compared the latest figures to the numbers under President Biden, revealing that only 486 illegal immigrants crossed the border on Tuesday—down from what he estimated was a staggering 11,000 per day during the previous administration.

Homan also hinted at an upcoming policy announcement. “There’s going to be an announcement coming here in the next week or so, where we will start, you know, if they report to ICE before they self-deport or stop at a port of entry, we’ll give ‘em credit for it,” he said.
