Health officials are finally admitting what millions of American families are now facing in their own neighborhoods: a deadly disease is roaring back because government bureaucrats failed to keep basic safeguards in place.
The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) just confirmed that rabies — long thought to be under control — is surging in wildlife populations across the United States. The announcement has pet owners furious, and for good reason.
Rabies Outbreaks Surge Nationwide
According to the CDC’s latest data, wildlife rabies cases rose another 5% in 2023. At least 15 major outbreak clusters are being tracked across the country, and health officials warn that “there are likely many more” going unreported.
In Nassau County, New York, the problem has already exploded. Rabies cases there jumped from six to twenty-two in a single year. County health director Alyssa Zohrabian admitted, “These cases reflect a troubling resurgence of terrestrial rabies, which had been successfully eliminated from Nassau County after 2016.”
