Geraldo Rivera, a once-close friend of Donald Trump, has sparked speculation about whether he might reconcile with the former president. Their friendship, which Rivera described as “buddy-buddy,” ended following the contentious 2020 election. Rivera had publicly criticized Trump’s actions post-election, calling them “outrageous,” a stance that severed their once-strong bond. However, recent remarks by Rivera have raised questions about whether he could take a surprising step to reconnect with Trump.

In a recent appearance on MSNBC’s The Beat with Ari Melber, Rivera left the possibility of a meeting with Trump open, drawing parallels to past reconciliations. He referenced Morning Joe co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, who famously visited Mar-a-Lago after previously likening Trump to Hitler and a fascist. “I thought with some trepidation about the example of *Morning Joe, Mr. and Mrs. going down and kissing the ring… would I do that? I haven’t yet, I don’t expect to although he is the President of all of America now,” Rivera said.

Rivera suggested that such a move would serve the greater good, noting the importance of political unity. Reflecting on the symbolic image of Joe Biden meeting Trump post-election, Rivera remarked, “That’s the way it used to be.”
