But one devastating reality check has thrown cold water on his presidential ambitions — and it’s hitting California families right where it hurts: the gas pump.

GOP Assemblyman Drops a Bombshell
Republican Assemblymember Stan Ellis of Bakersfield, a rancher and businessman with years of oil industry experience, issued a stark warning this week. If Newsom’s energy policies continue unchecked, Californians could soon face gas prices in the $8 to $10 per gallon range.
Ellis didn’t mince words during a virtual press conference Monday. “We’re down to 168,000 barrels today,” he said, pointing to the shocking collapse of California’s oil production. Just a decade ago, the state produced 468,000 barrels per day. Now production has plummeted by more than two-thirds.
