Fox News Found Out Too Late: Tucker Carlson Is On Fire

Executives at Fox News are probably sick to death of hearing Tucker Carlson’s name echoing around their offices.

Fox has diminished significantly with the departure of their most adored analyst, much like diluted Bud Light compared to high-quality artisan beer.

Particularly at the 8 p.m. ET time period that was formerly hosted by former presenter Tucker Carlson, Fox News is seeing a severe ratings decline. These dismal viewership figures point to an overall downturn for the network.

Investors are shocked and trying to figure out why Fox’s stock has experienced such a sharp decline.

Last week’s unexpected Rasmussen results showed that Tucker Carlson had a higher favorability rating than Fox News, which is his own network. Almost as if he were greater than the channel, Carlson received a spectacular 59 percent of respondents who gave him a positive rating as opposed to just 52 percent for the network. This time, it might take more than a giggle of amusement; these statistics demand thunderous applause!

Following Fox and Carlson’s recent “part ways,” there has been a flurry of speculation, leading many people to wonder what might have led to the breakup.

Under the surface, an unexplained force drove Fox News to sever relations with its longstanding anchor. In the wake of claims that he was covertly working for Russia, reports of a breach between him and management surfaced. Could this be more than just a simple conspiracy? Then, an even greater shock struck: He left just as Fox and Dominion Voting Systems reached a settlement. What sinister powers were in play here?

When their celebrity presenter left, Fox seemed disinterested, as if they treated them like any other product. Though considering how well-known some of its former hosts were, it seems the network managed just fine without them.

Fox decided they could simply get rid of Carlson since his harsh criticisms of management had grown grating. They had no idea Victor Davis Hanson, a well-known Californian historian, pundit, professor, and farmer, was on the case!

Fox has apparently created an insurmountable problem that can’t be fixed, according to Hanson. Strangely enough, Tucker Carlson is the one laughing triumphantly about it all these time.

Carlson withdrew from the Dominion dispute instead of participating in it. The Murdoch family, which owns Fox, took a “emotional” decision in the face of rising pressure from Carlson’s criticisms and the threat of a big lawsuit.

“In the heat of passion over the weekend, they fired him,” he said. “And, I think, before they fired him they thought: Fox is bigger than any one anchor.

“We fired Bill O’Reilly and guess what, Tucker showed up, and he has the same size audience — or bigger.

“And then we let Megyn Kelly go to NBC, and we brought in Laura Ingraham,” Hanson continued. “And we stopped that bleeding.”

Hanson said Fox thought their audience was focused on the brand, not the individual. “I don’t think they understand that it’s not quite like that,” he said. “It’s cumulative. It’s like a cut, a cut, a cut, that each one magnifies the prior one.

“So when you get rid of Bill O’Reilly, and you get rid of Megyn Kelly, and you call … Arizona too early, and you go up and down, and Newsmax and competitors creep in and grab your audience.

“[Fox has lost] over $800 million in stock. Newsmax has doubled its audience. That 8:00 to 9:00 key Eastern time slot has lost about a million viewers like that,” Hanson remarked while clapping his hands.

He acknowledged that Brian Kilmeade, Carlson’s replacement, “is a pretty good newscaster,” but said that Fox would struggle to find someone as “funny and affable and knowledgeable” as Carlson.

More significantly, Fox and News Corp., which owns The Wall Street Journal, both have Paul Ryan, a former House Speaker, on their boards. Hanson remarked. “So it is the epitome of doctrinaire conservatism.”

On the other hand, doctrinaire conservatism, as exemplified by figures like Mitt Romney, “is not what conservatism is now,” according to Hanson. “And so, they needed Tucker Carlson to appeal to the new Republican Party.”

Hanson claimed that Carlson was exceptionally talented since he came from a privileged, elite background but was able to connect with and draw a populist audience for Fox because to his history in tabloid journalism, which was ingrained in the “earthiness of the news.” This was somewhat similar to how O’Reilly did it.

“Tucker was able to stop the hemorrhaging [to] One America News or Newsmax or all the other right rivals … Why go to those guys when you have somebody who’s more responsible and learned, but still can appeal in the same topics?

“And so, I don’t know where they get that [replacement] person,” Hanson said. “And I think in the immediate week it shows.”

In the rapidly evolving media environment, Carlson may have been the one thing keeping cable news afloat. Making streaming their primary outlet for commentary, Joe Rogan, Ben Shapiro, and Megyn Kelly have successfully expanded their audience and generated earnings above what they would have on traditional TV networks.

Rumors have said that Carlson will join the streaming service industry and might make considerably more money than his current $20 million yearly compensation. Will this risky endeavor be successful? Time will only tell!

Considering the fragmentation of media “That wasn’t true 20 years ago, 10 — it wasn’t true five years ago,” he said.

Alternative media will probably become more daring in grabbing the attention of individuals who are now without their favorite Fox News in the wake of Carlson’s unexpected firing. According to Hanson, this will be a development for independent journalism.

Carlson has been grinning from ear to ear in recent images, and it makes perfect reason! He is now liberated from any constraints that held him back after leaving Fox, making way for greater money, power, and pleasure. His new endeavor seems to have been a great success, with a well-deserved chuckle serving as the icing on top.
