Dr. Peter Navarro, a Trump advisor, was found guilty of criminal contempt for ignoring a subpoena from Congress in Liz Cheney’s January 6 probe.
In defiance of the subpoena, Navarro said that Trump had told him to use executive privilege.
After a four-hour jury deliberation, Navarro was found guilty of contempt on two counts.
“The two counts each carry a minimum of 30 days and a maximum of one year in prison, in addition to a maximum fine of $100,000,” NBC News reported.

Peter Navarro, a former advisor to President Trump, was found guilty on Thursday of criminally disobeying a congressional subpoena in connection with the scheme to rig the 2020 election.
After a four-hour deliberation period, the jury found Navarro guilty. Contempt charges on two counts for refusing to provide testimony and concealing requested documents.

According to Navarro, the federal government imprisoned and chained him last year.
“They intercepted me gettin’ on the plane and then they put me in handcuffs, they bring me here. They put me in leg irons. They stick me in a cell,” After his detention in the summer of last year, Navarro told reporters.
