FBI Strikes in Classified Leak Scandal

Federal authorities executed a dramatic raid on the home of Washington Post journalist Hannah Natanson as part of a nationwide investigation into the illegal disclosure of classified military intelligence, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed.

Patel said in a statement on X that the FBI acted after uncovering evidence suggesting a journalist had been receiving sensitive information from a Pentagon-linked contractor, potentially putting U.S. troops and military operations at risk.

“This morning the FBI and partners executed a search warrant of an individual at the Washington Post who was found to allegedly be obtaining and reporting classified, sensitive military information from a government contractor, endangering our warfighters and compromising America’s national security,” Patel stated.

He added, “The alleged leaker was arrested this week and is in custody. As this is an ongoing investigation, we will have no further comment.”

The search reportedly took place at Natanson’s Alexandria, Virginia, home on Tuesday morning. Agents seized two laptops—one personal and one issued by the newspaper—along with her phone and smartwatch. A man who answered the door told The Post, “We can’t talk.”
