FBI Raids Dozens in Kirk Discord Plot?

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

This testimony backs up a Washington Post report alleging that accused shooter Tyler Robinson, 22, admitted in a Discord chat of roughly 30 members that he carried out the assassination of the Turning Point USA founder. “Hey guys, I have bad news for you all,” Robinson allegedly posted. “It was me at [Utah Valley University] yesterday. i’m sorry for all of this.” He continued: “Im surrendering through a sheriff friend in a few moments. thanks for all the good times and laughs, you’ve all been so amazing, thank you all for everything.”

Discord’s representatives previously told authorities they found “no evidence that the suspect planned this incident or promoted violence” on their platform. Yet federal officials now say they are combing through Robinson’s online world to see who else knew or encouraged his actions.

On Tuesday, Robinson was formally charged with seven counts, including aggravated murder, discharging a firearm causing serious injury, and obstruction of justice. Utah County Attorney Jeffrey Gray announced he will pursue the death penalty. Utah remains one of the few states still permitting execution by firing squad.

Gov. Spencer Cox revealed that Robinson’s relatives described him as having been “radicalized” by “leftist ideology.” Investigators were also told he spoke openly about Charlie Kirk’s September 10 appearance at Utah Valley University just days before the shooting.

Prosecutors further disclosed that Robinson’s own mother admitted her son’s politics had shifted dramatically in the past year. She said he had become “more pro-gay and trans-rights oriented.” After the assassination, Robinson allegedly texted his roommate and romantic partner, who is transitioning, that “I had enough of his hatred. Some hate can’t be negotiated out.”

Beyond Discord, federal agents are examining whether pro-trans activist groups, the “furry” subculture, or users on the gaming platform Steam had prior knowledge of Robinson’s plans. One radical group, Armed Queers SLC, reportedly deleted its Instagram account shortly after Kirk’s death.

Kirk, a husband and father of two young children, was gunned down while addressing a question about transgender mass shooters. A bullet struck him in the neck, ending his life instantly.

Robinson’s own father ultimately turned him in to law enforcement about 30 hours later, after the suspect stopped cooperating. Patel testified that FBI-released images helped confirm Robinson’s identity.

The accused assassin made his first court appearance on Tuesday, appearing remotely while strapped into a suicide vest. Observers described him as stone-faced as the judge read the list of charges. Conservative commentator Greg Price summed up the chilling moment: “Charlie Kirk’s murderer just made his first appearance in court wearing a suicide vest and with an expressionless, non-remorseful look on his face as he has his charges read to him. The face of evil.”

The investigation is far from over. Patel made clear the FBI intends to uncover every individual tied to the Discord network and beyond. The question remains: was this the act of a lone radical, or the tip of a larger leftist conspiracy?
