Defendants’ attorneys in the 2020 election lawsuit recently filed a court document including phone data demonstrating that throughout the first 11 months of 2021, Willis and Wade exchanged over 2,000 phone conversations.
The sworn evidence of both prosecutors on their relationship is purportedly contradicted by the calls. They’ve maintained that they didn’t get romantically involved until Wade was brought on by Willis to work on the Trump case. They also downplayed how often they communicated, giving the impression that they didn’t communicate much in 2021.
Between January and November 2021—the same period as Wade’s hiring—more than 2,000 voice calls and over 12,000 text messages were exchanged, according to an affidavit filed by investigator Charles Mittelstadt.
The researcher observed “a prevalence of calls made in the evening hours and suggested that some indicate that Wade had stayed overnight at Willis’s home despite denials on the stand. Challengers are claiming that the records indicate that Wade may have been over to the home as many as 30 times during that period.
Willis was abrasive throughout her testimony, saying things like, “It’s a lie! When questioned about having a romantic connection before employing Wade, she responded, “It’s a lie!” The media, the defendants, and the critics were all targeted by Willis, who was commended by many for demonstrating her skill as a “good lawyer.”
