Transgender Identity Revealed in Court Papers
A footnote in the plea agreement — first reported by the Daily Wire — explains the defendant’s new identity.
“The case is captioned as United States v. Nicholas John Roske,” his attorneys wrote. “That name remains Ms. Roske’s legal name, and she has not asked to recaption the case. Out of respect for Ms. Roske, the balance of this pleading and counsel’s in-court argument will refer to her as Sophie and use female pronouns.”
Prosecutors have confirmed Roske was already using a female identity online before his arrest.

DOJ Responds With Forceful Condemnation
Attorney General Pam Bondi did not mince words when addressing the gravity of the situation.
“This attempt against the life of a Supreme Court Justice was an attack on the entire judicial system that cannot go unpunished,” Bondi told the Daily Wire. “This Department of Justice condemns political violence and our prosecutors will ensure that this disturbed individual faces severe consequences for his deranged actions.”
Federal prosecutors also stated in new filings that sentencing must “send the unequivocal, clear, and strong message that attempted violence and threats of violence against members of the judiciary — as well as other public and federal officials — cannot and will not be tolerated, and will be justly and severely condemned.”
Troubling Pattern of Violence
This revelation comes at a time when the nation is already reeling from politically motivated acts of violence connected to individuals identifying as transgender.
The alleged killer of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Tyler Robinson, reportedly left a letter claiming he murdered Kirk to “protect” his transgender roommate. In 2023, a transgender shooter carried out a brutal attack on a Christian school in Nashville, Tennessee.
Critics say these cases expose a dangerous trend being ignored by the mainstream media.
Firearms Restrictions Now on the Table
In light of these revelations, the Justice Department is considering new restrictions specifically aimed at preventing transgender individuals with mental health issues from obtaining firearms.
According to The Wire, officials are weighing “a range of options to prevent mentally unstable individuals from committing acts of violence, especially at schools.”
While the proposals are still in early discussions, the news has already sparked heated debate over how far the government should go in limiting gun rights based on identity and mental health status.
What This Means Going Forward
The Roske case is not just about one man targeting Justice Kavanaugh. It highlights a broader and more unsettling reality: that political violence is escalating and America’s institutions are now squarely in the crosshairs.
With a plea deal now on the table and a likely 30-year prison sentence looming, Roske’s case is a stark reminder of what’s at stake — not only for members of the Supreme Court, but for the stability of the rule of law itself.
