Democrats Risk Losing Black Support with Benefits for Illegals!

According to a Pew research, 32% of Americans describe the border as a “major problem,” while 45% view it as a “crisis.”

Most respondents claimed that the increase in illegal immigration causes more crime, but there were serious worries about what Pew called economic burdens—the strain on public resources and safety net programs.

The study emphasized the rising poll numbers supporting the construction of a border wall, which had fallen under Trump’s administration but has now rebounded.

Mayur told the Times that the spread of illegal immigrants across the country has brought attention to the problem, particularly because more people are crossing after Biden reversed almost all of Trump’s strict immigration and border security measures on his first day in office.

“There is a change here, and that is caused by all the flood of migrants into the sanctuary cities. What once was basically dismissed by many as a sort of right-wing thing, it’s no more that,” he said. “There has never been a time where this issue is as wide open as it is now.”

He pointed out that this helps explain why black voters—especially black men—who were formerly ardent Democrats are now turning against the party.

“This is an unintended consequence of uncontrolled immigration. It’s basically coming back to hurt Democrats,” Mayur stated to the Times. “I’m not sure whether over the long term they may benefit, but at least in the short term, over the next year or so, it is hurting them.”

When the border situation remained mostly calm in 2020, during Trump’s term, 34% of respondents told Gallup they supported higher immigration levels, while just 28% preferred lower levels. But last year, the tide turned, with just 26% favoring increases and 41% favoring a decrease—the largest percentage in ten years.

Furthermore, a recent University of Houston study indicates that Biden and his advisors misjudged if they thought that a policy of quasi-open borders toward immigrants would benefit him and Democrats with the Latino vote.

Bill King examined the survey results in his analysis for Real Clear Politics, concentrating on voters in Texas, a state noted for having a sizable Latino population.

“The poll unsurprisingly projected that Biden and Trump were headed to another showdown in November, and that Trump was leading Biden in that rematch by 9% in Texas,” He wrote, mentioning the outcomes. “However, what I suspect the Biden campaign team found shocking was that Biden was losing to Trump with Latino voters by a 47-41 margin.

“Only 55% of Latino Democratic primary voters said they were committed to vote for Biden. The other 45% were undecided,” King noted further.
