Authorities revealed the shooting unfolded during Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minnesota. According to investigators, two young children lost their lives, while more than a dozen others suffered injuries.
Fox News reported that the attacker was a man in his early 20s, dressed in black from head to toe. The incident occurred just as children were returning for their first week of classes.
Police Chief Brian O’Hara described the terrifying scene:
“During the mass, a gunman approached on the outside of the side of the building and began firing a rifle through the church windows towards the children sitting in the pews at the mass. Shooting through the windows, he struck children and worshipers that were inside the building,” O’Hara explained. “The shooter was armed with a rifle, a shotgun, and a pistol. This was a deliberate act of violence against innocent children and other people worshiping. The sheer cruelty and cowardice of firing into a church full of children is absolutely incomprehensible.”
The horror was unimaginable.
“Two young children, ages eight and 10, were killed where they sat in the pews. Their parents have been notified. Seventeen other people were injured, 14 of them being children,” O’Hara continued, adding that “the coward who fired these shots ultimately took his own life in the rear of the church.”
Mayor Jacob Frey spoke after the tragedy, saying:
“There are no words that can capture the horror and the evil of this unspeakable act. We are a Minneapolis family. But to everybody out there, do not think of these as just somebody else’s kids. Those families are suffering immense pain right now. Think of this as if it were your own. Every one of us needs to be wrapping our arms around these families, giving them every ounce that we can muster.”
Minnesota Governor Tim Walz also issued a statement, confirming he had been briefed. “I’ve been briefed on a shooting at Annunciation Catholic School,” Walz said. “I’m praying for our kids and teachers whose first week of school was marred by this horrific act of violence.”
Hospitals across the city remain on high alert as victims continue receiving treatment. Children’s Minnesota Hospital confirmed six children are being treated for their wounds. Hennepin Healthcare reported they are also caring for several victims injured in the church attack.
Instead of focusing solely on the grieving families and the investigation, Democrats like Klobuchar rushed to politicize the event. By making a misleading statement about “automatic rifles,” the senator’s remarks drew criticism from those who believe facts—not false claims—should guide the national conversation.
This devastating attack has left a Catholic community in mourning, families shattered, and a city searching for answers. Yet once again, rather than uniting in support of victims, some politicians are exploiting tragedy for political gain.
Some Politicians just can’t wait to tell a lie and also blame Trump and Republicans! They need to get the facts before speaking out!!!
