A tragic school shooting in Minnesota has once again turned into a political talking point for Democrats. Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) wasted no time in joining MSNBC to place the blame on Republicans, while making inaccurate claims about the type of weapon used.
During the interview, Klobuchar insisted the attacker used an automatic rifle—a description that does not match law enforcement reports.
“All the work we’ve done to ban these automatic rifles, and do something when it comes to background checks and everything. We keep getting thwarted. We were able to pass a limited measure…but not enough to stop something like this. It makes you think about that,” Klobuchar declared on live television.
Her remarks quickly raised eyebrows, since officials confirmed the shooter did not possess an automatic weapon.
