Dem Congressman’s Shocking Move on Statue of Liberty!

Have you ever said anything so foolish that you ended up owning yourself because you were so intent on “owning” someone else?

Rep. Maxwell Frost, a freshman Democrat from Florida, encountered the same circumstance yesterday.

Don’t miss this! Carry faith with you everywhere with the Exclusive National Prayer Coin!

In an engaging video posted by RNC Research on X (formerly Twitter), Frost mocks Republicans for endorsing the new legislation, H.R. 2, or the Secure the Border Act. In a lighthearted proposal, he proposes that the Statue of Liberty be removed in the event that H.R. 2 is signed into law.

The bill is receiving some bipartisan support, according to Fox News. “would restrict the asylum process for people crossing the border and require resumed construction on the border wall.”

According to Frost himself “[don’t] welcome immigrants if you plan to reject them. If you keep pushing your bigoted H.R. 2 bill, then also pass this bill … It removes the Statue of Liberty, our largest symbol that tells people to come here.”

Then he carried on criticizing his “colleagues from across the aisle” for engaging in the unpardonable transgression of impeding lawbreakers from evading detection at the border: “This is who you are, removing the fabric of America. So, I want to know which Republican, who supports and voted for H.R.2, will introduce this bill. If you’re gonna support H.R.2 and these bigoted measures, the least you can do is not be a d**n liar.”

Even though Frost seemed to be appreciating his amazing dunk, the astute people on X quickly saw the holes in his inadequate defense and started making fun of him.

Even British writers, such as Nile Gardiner of the Telegraph, joined in, labeling Frost’s dummy bill as “ridiculous,” while Jim Treacher of Substack noted that “[none] of the other mayors crying about illegal immigration are Republicans.”

ALERT! Major Water Restrictions In Effect!

Frost’s argument is not only absurd on its face, but he also has a profoundly erroneous understanding of the significance and intent of the Statue of Liberty.

The problem of illegal immigration and our present border issue are unrelated to the Statue of Liberty. Lady Liberty is presumably not on the thoughts of the majority of people streaming across the southern border, and if they are crossing under the cover of darkness, they are also certainly not too concerned with entering the nation legally.

The Statue of Liberty, as the National Park Service kindly illuminates for us, is sometimes referred to as the “Immigrant’s Statue.”

The monument was a gift from the French people to the United States. “Commemorating the alliance of France and the United States during the American Revolution.”

From the time of its dedication in 1886 until Ellis Island’s closure in 1924, immigrants viewed the statue as soon as they arrived in the country.

For these immigrants, who usually arrived in extreme poverty, often knew nothing about the United States other than that it was the “land of opportunity,” Lady Liberty served as a symbol of welcome.

The National Park Services claims that “The Statue of Liberty was a reassuring sign that they had arrived in the land of their dreams.”

Given that the majority of these 14 million immigrants entered the nation through Ellis Island, it is likely that they did so lawfully, entailing all the documentation and security checks that go along with it.

It is dishonest, not to mention dumb, to mix together these subjects. Not only was the Statue of Liberty located next to the most well-known immigration inspection and processing facility in American history, but there were a lot fewer people living in the country back then than there are today.

In this chapter of American history, immigration was necessary.

Despite Frost’s flimsy act, the GOP is right to be concerned about illegal immigration.

Whether the Statue of Liberty exists or not, introducing a measure to remove it is just stupid and reflects poorly on Frost.

Unless Frost is alluding to a self-inflicted blunder, his thought is not as important as he thinks it is.
