Officers escaped harm, but only because Jahn’s attack failed to break through security before he turned the gun on himself.
This wasn’t random. Investigators quickly uncovered chilling proof that the attack was motivated by hatred for ICE and law enforcement.
FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed agents found rifle ammunition engraved with anti-ICE messages.
“These despicable, politically motivated attacks against law enforcement are not a one-off,” Patel wrote on X. “It has to end, and the FBI and our partners will lead these investigative efforts to ensure that those who target our law enforcement are pursued and brought to the fullest extent of justice.”
Think about that—Jahn spent time etching anti-ICE messages onto his bullets before climbing onto a rooftop to ambush federal agents.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem also issued a sobering statement:
“While we don’t know motive yet, we know that our ICE law enforcement is facing unprecedented violence against them. It must stop.”
Even more disturbing? This wasn’t the first threat against this exact ICE facility.
DHS spokeswoman Tricia McLaughlin told Fox News there was a credible bomb threat at the same Dallas location just one month ago.
“This location, it looks like it’s been targeted,” McLaughlin said. “It looks like he could have been watching to look at the processing and see what happens on a day-to-day basis at this Dallas field office.”
That means someone was likely surveilling the facility, studying officer movements, and waiting for the perfect moment to strike.
Trump administration officials wasted no time connecting the dots between constant political attacks on ICE and the violence now unfolding.
Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton didn’t hold back:
“The attack on ICE in Dallas is yet another despicable assault on law and order. The epidemic of leftist political violence must end. Democrats have fostered an environment of evil, emboldening radicals to kill, steal, and destroy. But we will never surrender.”
Texas Governor Greg Abbott promised the attack would not slow down immigration enforcement efforts:
“The shooter’s actions will NOT slow our arrest, detention, & deportation of illegal immigrants. We will work with ICE & the Dallas Police Department to get to the bottom of the assassin’s motive.”
For years, left-wing politicians and activists compared ICE officers to Nazis, called for the agency to be abolished, and encouraged harassment campaigns against agents and their families.
Now those words have turned deadly.
As Secretary Noem warned:
“These horrendous killings must serve as a wake-up call to the far left that their rhetoric about ICE has consequences.”
Until politicians stop demonizing law enforcement officers, more attacks like Dallas are bound to happen.
