A horrifying scene unfolded early Wednesday morning in Dallas after a sniper opened fire at a U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility, leaving at least one dead and several more injured before taking his own life.
According to The Daily Mail, the deadly chaos began just after 7 A.M. Central Time when the suspect, armed and positioned on a rooftop near the ICE complex, began shooting as detainees were being moved. Witnesses described panic and confusion as bullets tore through the area.
FOX 4 confirmed that police identified the gunman as a white male. Before officers could close in, the shooter reportedly turned the weapon on himself, ending the standoff with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
As investigators continue piecing together the attack, one critical question remains unanswered: Who was the shooter targeting? Authorities have not yet determined whether the detainees, ICE personnel, or both were the intended victims.
