Donald Trump, the previous president, has the proud endorsement of the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund in the current presidential contest.
“Over the last several weeks, we have polled our grassroots supporters. They made their choice clear — Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund activists want Donald Trump to be returned to the White House as the nation’s 47th president,” Jenny Beth Martin, the founder of Tea Party Patriots, told The Hill.

“Our grassroots understand that the American experiment is at risk, and that the man most able to save it is Donald Trump,” she said.
“Consequently, I am honored and proud to declare that on behalf of our three million supporters, Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund endorses Donald Trump for president,” Martin said.
In a statement to The Hill, she said that a survey she conducted in December among members of her group revealed that 87% of respondents supported Trump. Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida received almost 10% of the vote to finish in second place.
With DeSantis’s announcement of his campaign suspension, the only candidates still in the race before Tuesday’s much awaited primary in New Hampshire are Trump and former governor of South Carolina Nikki Haley.
Martin outlined a number of reasons why the Tea Party Patriots Citizens Fund supported Trump.
“Donald Trump was a magnificent president,” in a social media video that she stated. “Our economy reached heights never before seen. Our standard of living rose. Crime was under control.”
“He cared about securing our borders,” Martin continued. “America became an energy exporter and shed the shackles of dependence on foreign suppliers; foreign allies respected us even as our adversaries feared us; and our future looked bright.”
“He was, in word and deed, the all-American president,” she said.
Martin argues that American individuals who voiced disapproval or criticism of President Trump were not singled out for special attention.

“He did not have them arrested for exercising their First Amendment rights,” She may have been alluding to the peaceful protesters who were prosecuted for their involvement in the Capitol invasion on January 6, 2021.
“In stark contrast to Joe Biden, Donald Trump honors the Constitution and loves America,” Martin said.
Following his success in the Iowa caucuses, Trump has secured the backing of a number of erstwhile opponents for the GOP nomination, including DeSantis, Sen. Tim Scott of South Carolina, and billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy.
Senators Ted Cruz of Texas and Marco Rubio of Florida, who opposed Trump in the 2016 election, openly endorsed him last week.
