Republican who opposes Trump, Liz Cheney, is in the news once more. Despite failing to win re-election, she is now thinking about running for president in 2024.
Liz Cheney, a supporter of President Bush and the daughter of former Vice President Dick Cheney, talked down the prospect of running for office in an interview with CNN’s Jake Tapper on “State of the Union.”
“But if it came down to it, even though you disagree with Joe Biden on almost every issue under the sun, other than maybe Ukraine and Israel, would you vote for him over Donald Trump?” Tapper asked.
“We’re going to see what happens,” Cheney replied. “We’re going to see how things unfold.”
“I think Donald Trump is the single most dangerous threat we face,” she added.
Donald Trump skillfully handled the border problem the country is presently facing during his four years in office. He not only kept the peace, but he also managed the problems in the Middle East and Eastern Europe with skill. Trump deserves congratulations for taking out ISIS’s senior leadership as well.
“I would imagine that there will be a number of other candidates in the race,” she added.
“Would you be one of them?” Tapper asked.
“I’ll tell you what I am definitely going to do. I’m going to spend the next year between now and the election, certainly helping to elect serious people, helping to elect sane people to Congress of both parties,” she coyly responded.
“Yes, because I think that we could well find ourselves in a situation, given what we know the Trump folks are doing in terms of attempting to question the results of the election,” she continued. “We don’t want a situation where the election is thrown into the House of Representatives and Donald Trump has any possibility at all of prevailing under those circumstances.”

Cheney’s statement implies that the January 6 catastrophe was actually avoided. The Electoral Count Act, which could be unlawful, appears to have stopped it from happening in the future, nevertheless.
“So we’ve got to elect people who believe in the Constitution and who take their responsibility seriously to Congress,” she claimed. “So I’m going to be spending a lot of time doing that in addition to other things.”
“But you’re not ruling out a presidential run,” Tapper pressed.
“No, I’m not,” she replied.
Cheney would have a difficult time winning the presidency in 2024. There is no support from MAGA Republicans, and many of them are actively against her. Strong support for Hillary is also lacking from mainstream Republicans. Her loss against Harriet Hageman in the Wyoming re-election contest by an astounding 37 points is a severe primary setback in recent memory.
Democrats are paying attention to Cheney because she is vilifying the former president and saying precisely what they want to hear. However, it’s obvious that few Democrats would vote for Hillary in a general election, especially with credible independent opponents like Robert F. Kennedy and controversial professor Cornel West in the mix.
Cheney could obtain financial assistance thanks to the contacts her powerful father has. Her route to the presidency, however, is still nonexistent. Her campaign would essentially be an act of rebellion against Trump and his supporters, along with a way to advertise her books.
The highlight of her Sunday morning interview was the cherry on top.
“Okay. And we’ll see you when your book comes out,” Tapper said.
