Caught on Cam: Mayor Blocks ICE Vehicle!

>> Continued From the Previous Page <<

A third Democrat candidate, Bushra Amiwala, claimed she was also hit with tear gas during the disturbance. All three candidates are running for the same safe Democrat congressional seat, and all three have chosen to make their campaigns about protesting ICE rather than representing their communities.

Footage Shows Biss Helping Block Federal Officers

Independent journalist Ford Fischer shared video that appeared to confirm what many eyewitnesses had already reported. The clip shows Mayor Biss himself standing alongside agitators blocking the driveway.

Journalist Rosas posted the footage on X, writing: “I believe this is Evanston Mayor Daniel Biss (D) taking part in blocking the driveway for the ICE facility in Broadview, IL.” Rosas even noted that the mayor had been there the week prior engaging in similar activity.

Biss Plays the Victim Card

Instead of acknowledging his role, Mayor Biss took to social media to mock calls for his arrest. “Right wing crazies want me arrested because they know I won’t back down. Too bad,” he boasted on X.

When speaking with Axios, Biss shifted into full victim mode, complaining about the tear gas used to disperse the crowd. “I just couldn’t breathe at all,” he said. “I found myself on the ground, desperately trying to get air.”

Homeland Security Slams Democrats’ Stunt

The Department of Homeland Security made it clear where the blame lies. DHS assistant secretary for public affairs Tricia McLaughlin condemned the candidates’ actions in no uncertain terms. “These desperate politicians want their 15 minutes of fame and they’re willing to do it off the backs of our law enforcement,” she told Fox News.

McLaughlin followed up with a blistering press release. “The violent targeting of law enforcement in Illinois by lawless rioters is despicable and Governor JB Pritzker and Mayor Brandon Johnson must call for it to end,” she declared. “The men and women of ICE put their lives on the line to protect the people of Illinois and all Americans.”

Political Theater Over Public Safety

What should be a straightforward issue — enforcing immigration law and protecting federal officers — has now turned into a circus, thanks to Democrats more interested in street theater than serving their constituents.

Instead of standing up for law enforcement, Democrat candidates in Illinois’ 9th District are racing to see who can outdo the other in radical grandstanding. The fact that slashed tires, blocked roadways, and tear gas had to be deployed should tell voters everything they need to know.

Mayor Daniel Biss is not just running for Congress — he’s running from accountability.
