For years, the Catholic Church quietly benefited from Washington’s lax immigration policies.
Under President Joe Biden, billions in taxpayer dollars flowed into church-affiliated migrant programs while the southern border spiraled out of control.
Now that President Donald Trump is enforcing immigration law again and deporting illegal aliens, church leaders are suddenly in open revolt.
And the reason has very little to do with compassion and everything to do with money.
Bishops Sound the Alarm as Deportations Resume
The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops has gone back to its familiar routine of attacking Trump’s immigration policies through the media.
USCCB President Paul Coakley appeared on CBS News’ Face the Nation to warn that deportations are allegedly “spreading fear” throughout immigrant communities.
