She’s been raising questions about the official narrative from the start, demanding transparency and accountability. Now, those demands have escalated into a public feud with Patel himself.
According to a New York Times bombshell, Patel reportedly clashed with Joe Kent, head of the National Counterterrorism Center, after Kent began digging through FBI case files for possible links between Robinson and foreign or extremist groups.
Patel was furious, allegedly arguing that Kent had no business interfering in the FBI’s work. Tensions ran so high that Patel, Kent, Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, Vice President JD Vance, and White House Chief of Staff Susie Wiles were forced to meet at the White House to cool things down.
Sources claim Patel was livid that Kent had obtained access to internal FBI files. His concern? That Kent’s efforts could unintentionally help Robinson’s defense team by suggesting he didn’t act alone.
But conservatives aren’t buying it. As many have pointed out — if Robinson didn’t act alone, shouldn’t the FBI be focused on finding the rest of those responsible?
Adding to the intrigue, reports surfaced that Patel’s own girlfriend, Alexis Wilkins, “works with TPUSA.” Critics argue that such a personal connection raises major questions about the integrity of the investigation.
Candace Owens wasted no time calling Patel out directly after the Times exposé dropped.
“This article is literally about how Kash Patel is upset that Joe Kent and Tulsi Gabbard are trying to do their jobs and solve the Charlie Kirk murder case,” she wrote on X. “It’s like Kash Patel wants to be the sole point person on this—why? I do not trust him at all.”
Owens has been relentless in pushing for more information, even releasing alleged text messages from Kirk himself — chilling messages that suggested he feared for his life. One message read, “I am not sure if I will live to see the end of this revolution,” while another hauntingly said, “I might be Moses though. I might not see this whole thing through.”
She also shared screenshots from Kirk’s group chats expressing frustration over losing donors who pressured him to cancel Tucker Carlson from Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest event.
Owens has even admitted she’s glad she wasn’t invited to speak at Kirk’s memorial, saying she would have “gone torched earth on the official narrative.”
Kirk’s assassination has split conservatives right down the middle. On one side are those like Owens and Joe Kent, demanding the government dig deeper into what they suspect could be a coordinated plot. On the other side are officials defending the FBI’s current direction under Patel.
Kent’s defenders say he was simply doing his job by ensuring no domestic or foreign terror links were overlooked. But Patel and the Department of Justice insist that such actions could compromise the case by giving the defense ammunition.
During a Senate hearing, Patel confirmed the FBI is now investigating “more than 20 individuals” tied to an online chatroom where Robinson was active before the shooting.
Despite the public tension, Patel and Gabbard later issued a joint statement claiming unity: “The FBI and intelligence community under the direction of President Trump will leave no stone unturned in the investigation of the assassination of our friend, Charlie Kirk.”
However, not everyone is convinced. An FBI insider told Fox News Digital that the media “exaggerated” the feud between Patel and Kent — a claim many conservatives view skeptically.
Owens isn’t backing down. She continues to call out what she sees as political gamesmanship and possible corruption within the intelligence community. She’s even hinted that Kirk’s evolving views on Israel may have made him a target, though she’s provided no hard evidence linking anyone to the killing.
For now, the FBI and National Counterterrorism Center insist they’re united in their pursuit of justice. But Owens — and millions of conservatives who admired Charlie Kirk — remain unconvinced.
Her message is clear: she won’t rest until the full truth behind Kirk’s murder is revealed. And she’s daring anyone — even Kash Patel — to stand in her way.
