When U.S. House investigators produced paperwork with his signature, President Joe Biden’s brother James quickly changed his mind about his involvement in a commercial transaction between Hunter Biden and a Chinese entity, according to sources.
A proposal for a joint venture between Biden Associates and CEFC, a Chinese corporation connected to the nation’s communist leadership, appeared in a 2017 commercial agreement. James Biden’s signature on an agreement memorandum with Hunter and another partner was discovered in documents investigators were able to collect from that time period, which went against Biden’s prior testimony in which he claimed not to have known about the arrangement.

House Republicans continue to delve deeply into the financial gains made by members of the Biden family in the years after President Biden’s vice president. House Oversight Chair James Comer (R-KY) has described a web of shell businesses that benefited from transactions like the one involving CEFC, sharing money around other shells and ultimately making their way to family members including James and his spouse, Sarah. According to bank records, the couple repaid a debt in full when they deposited $40,000 to President Biden’s personal bank account.
