Former Democratic Congresswoman and 2020 presidential candidate Tulsi Gabbard has made headlines by officially endorsing former President Donald Trump in his bid for a return to the White House. Gabbard, who has become known for her outspoken criticism of the Democratic Party’s leadership, took the stage at a Trump rally on Monday to announce her support. Her endorsement is rooted in her concerns about national security and what she describes as governmental overreach.
During the rally, which took place at a National Guard event in Michigan, Trump introduced Gabbard with praise, saying, “She’s got great common sense, great spirit, and she loves our country.” Gabbard, known for her unconventional positions within the Democratic Party, emphasized that her decision was largely motivated by the urgent need to avoid escalating conflicts. “We have never been closer to the brink of nuclear war than now,” she warned, before declaring her commitment to helping Trump return to the Oval Office. “This is one of the main reasons why I’m committed to doing all that I can to send President Trump back to the White House, where he can once again serve us as our Commander-in-Chief.”

Gabbard’s concerns were not limited to the threat of war. She also expressed a deep worry about the state of the nation under the current administration, particularly regarding civil liberties. “I am confident that his first task will be to do the work to walk us back from the brink of war,” Gabbard stated, before adding, “We cannot be prosperous unless we are at peace. And we can’t live free as long as we have a government that is retaliating against its people.”
