Bill Maher: "I Can't Defend This Anymore!"

California has poured $24 billion into homelessness programs over the last five years — and yet nearly 187,000 people are still sleeping on the streets.

Now, even one of Hollywood’s most outspoken liberals admits he has no clue where all that money went.

On Friday, Bill Maher said exactly what Republicans have been arguing for decades: massive government spending doesn’t guarantee results.

Maher Pays Half His Income in Taxes — Still Sees Failure

On HBO’s Real Time online overtime segment, Maher made a shocking confession: he pays more than half his income in taxes every year — and yet he can’t find any evidence that the money is helping anyone.

“I don’t understand how there can be so much wealth, and I pay so much in taxes, and it doesn’t seem to get to the people,” Maher admitted.

He even added that he doesn’t mind paying the taxes, but he sees no improvement in the homelessness crisis or anywhere else.

Stephen A. Smith tells Bill Maher’s audience to “stay tuned” as he calls out politicians for “KNOWING” where the money is—and not allocating it to the American people.
