Alec Baldwin is ready to bear the consequences of his own remarks, according to Leo Terrell, a renowned lawyer and Fox News contributor. It looks that Mr. Baldwin’s interview with ABC’s George Stephanopoulos may be used against him, putting his future in danger. Criminal charges are likely as a result of a DA probe.
Terrell said as much when speaking on Fox News Channel’s “The Faulkner Focus” on Thursday, saying “One of the biggest mistakes Alec Baldwin made was to go on George Stephanopoulos’ program and say he didn’t pull the trigger. That was a lie. I guarantee you that’s going to come back to haunt him.”

Baldwin proclaimed his innocence during an interview with George Stephanopoulos shortly after the shooting, but he soon grew to regret it as the whole story emerged. He had no idea that one little untruth he had spoken would later come back to haunt him.
“Someone is responsible for what happened, and I can’t say who it is, but it’s not me. Honest to God, if I thought I was responsible I might have killed myself. And I don’t say that lightly.”
In an odd turn of events, Alec Baldwin vehemently denied shooting George Stephanopoulos. He insisted he had nothing to do with it in spite of all evidence to the contrary, leaving us with more questions than answers.
“Well, she’s laying there and I go, ‘Did she get hit by wadding? Was there a blank? Sometimes those blank rounds have a wadding inside that packs, it’s like a cloth that packs the gunpowder in. Sometimes wadding comes out, it can hit people, and it could feel like a little bit of a poke.
“But no one could understand. Did she have a heart attack? Because remember the idea that someone put a live bullet in the gun was not even in reality. I never pulled the trigger. No, no, no. You would never do that.”
Baldwin’s hasty statement that he would never pull the trigger is questionable given Terrell’s powerful line about the trigger. As we all know, this turned out to be untrue because Alec sadly killed his cinematographer – there was no “heart attack” or blank shot in sight!
Following yesterday’s announcement of Baldwin’s charges, his attorney immediately declared their intend to vigorously contest the claims. This legal battle seems to be as dramatic and compelling as it is important!
“This decision distorts Halyna Hutchins’ tragic death and represents a terrible miscarriage of justice. Mr. Baldwin had no reason to believe there was a live bullet in the gun – or anywhere on the movie set. He relied on the professionals with whom he worked, who assured him the gun did not have live rounds. We will fight these charges, and we will win.”
Baldwin could be sentenced to anything from 18 months to five years in jail if found guilty of the crime.
