Anti‑ICE Protest at Church Sends DOJ Into Overdrive!

The U.S. Department of Justice is reviewing a controversial protest that broke out at Cities Church in St. Paul on Sunday, raising serious questions about the boundary between activism and the constitutional right to religious worship. Federal officials confirmed that the incident is under active review.

Video footage from the service shows a group of demonstrators entering the sanctuary while worshippers were gathered and chanting anti-ICE slogans. The protest briefly interrupted the service before security escorted the group out. Congregants remained in their seats during the disturbance, according to multiple clips circulating online.

Former CNN anchor turned YouTuber Don Lemon documented part of the protest. Footage released by Black Lives Matter Minnesota also captured demonstrators shouting inside the church.

“This cannot be a house of God while harboring someone directing ICE agents to wreak havoc on our community,” attorney Nekima Levy-Armstrong told Lemon during a livestream, explaining the purpose of the demonstration, as reported by Fox9. “I am a reverend on top of being a lawyer and an activist, so I come here in the power of the almighty God.”
