Alito Health Scare Sparks Panic in Washington

A brief but alarming health incident involving Supreme Court Justice Samuel Alito has drawn attention in Washington, even as the nation’s highest court continues to hand down closely watched rulings on immigration and constitutional law.

According to sources familiar with the situation, the 76-year-old justice was treated for dehydration following an evening event in Philadelphia on March 20. While the episode was ultimately described as minor, the circumstances surrounding it have sparked renewed focus on the aging composition of the Court during a time of major legal battles.

Alito had attended a Federalist Society dinner that night when he reportedly began to feel lightheaded. Out of caution, his security detail advised him to seek medical evaluation. Two individuals present at the event emphasized that the situation never escalated into a full-blown emergency. He did not lose consciousness, and there was no indication of a serious medical crisis.

Because Alito and his wife were planning to return home to Northern Virginia, they made a precautionary stop at a nearby hospital. Medical staff treated him for dehydration, and he was released the same evening without complications. Sources stressed that the visit was brief and routine, not an emergency admission.
